Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Plateau and Praia teams thus join Achadinha and Varanda as semifinalists of the Santiago Sul regional veterans football championship, for the 2021-2022 season.
In quarter-final games, held at Estádio da Várzea, Plateau’s veterans eliminated the defending champion, Qatar, on penalties (9-8), after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Praia’s veterans surprised Reencontro, always a candidate for the title, winning 1-0, in the game that closed the quarter-finals of the veterans’ championship, a competition that closes the football season in Santiago Sul.
Therefore, in the semi-finals, to be played over two legs, Achadinha will face the veterans from Praia and Varanda will face the Plateau team.

Achadinha 3 – Abolacha 0 and Balcony 2 – Paiol 1
Sunday, 17th, Várzea Stadium:
