Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic acknowledged that there are dysfunctions in the issues of equality and gender equity in Cabo Verde and advocated more attention to the education of boys, in order to not generate new dysfunctions in the future.
José Maria Neves spoke on Monday, during his speech at the opening of the 4th Week of Reflection on Gender-Based Violence (VBG), which runs from today to Friday, the 20th, under the theme “Gender Equality, Inclusive Communication and Sustainability”.
The initiative, which started today in the municipality of Tarrafal de Santiago, and was staged on the Craft and Culture Market, is promoted by the Cabo Verdean Association for Combating Gender-Based Violence (ACLCVBG), in partnership with the Presidency of the Republic of Cabo Verde and other partners.
In his speech, the Head of State began by congratulating ACLCVBG and all partners on creating this opportunity to reflect the issues of gender equality and equity and gender-based violence and for putting the theme on the agenda.
