Africa-Press – Cape verde. The deputy prime minister said this Wednesday that Cape Verde’s rise in the Corruption Perception Index is an invitation to accelerate the reform agenda, in order to make the country increasingly transparent and better governed.
Cape Verde rose four places in the Corruption Perceptions Index, moving to the 35th position in an evaluation of 180 countries and territories, having achieved 60 points on a scale of zero to 100.
Olavo Correia made this statement at a press conference at Praia, to react to the PAICV’s position regarding the latest assessments made by international institutions, particularly with regard to the Transparency Index.
“It is a highly positive performance (…), but the Government’s objective is not only to be the best in Africa, but to be one of the best in the world in terms of transparency and good governance”, he said.
