Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, stated this Wednesday that the placement of a dedicated prosecutor at the Court of Auditors falls under the jurisdiction of the Attorney General, emphasizing that the Government has already created the necessary legal conditions.
According to Inforpress, the minister was responding to questions related to the Court of Auditors’ request for the allocation of a prosecutor on a dedicated basis, given the high volume of cases, estimated at around 600.
Joana Rosa revealed that the Government’s intervention focused on revising the legal framework of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, with the recent approval of the Statutes of Magistrates of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which include transitional provisions intended to allow the opening of an extraordinary competition.
“The objective is to enable the Public Prosecutor’s Office to fill positions at the top of the career ladder,” she explained.
The minister said she believes that the Attorney General will consider the need for the permanent placement of a prosecutor at the Court of Auditors, so that they can work better and respond to the requests of the Court of Auditors.
