In an interview with journalists, the national director of Health, Ângela Gomes, said that in other parts of the world there are studies carried out after Covid-19, which show that adolescents and young people have had a high prevalence of dissatisfaction and a degree of unhappiness..
He also mentioned that, worldwide, teenagers generally do not get sick and do not have much contact with health structures, due to illnesses.
And based on this, in the case of Cape Verde, she mentioned that the Government created the adolescent health program, precisely to attract teenagers to health facilities before they become ill, with the aim, according to her, of having access to information and create skills to develop healthier life projects.
“In this sense, we are now preparing an adolescent health survey that will begin later this year, it is an extremely complete survey that will also give us indications of the physical and psycho-emotional health status of adolescents. ”, announced Ângela Gomes.
On the other hand, clinical psychologist Cláudia Galina reinforced that there are many factors that can lead to this outcome, which is why she recommends prevention, that is, early action to deal with the problem in the best way.
“It is important to be very attentive to this population group, to be aware of the signs and to act in a multisectoral way, and, if we can do this through early prevention with children, adolescents and young people, we are preventing the problem from becoming even bigger”, he highlighted. this health professional.
