Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government this Wednesday launched the third edition of the Cabo Verde Digital Funding programme, designed to promote the incubation of technology-based projects, aiming to support young people and projects that want to develop technology-based solutions.
The programme aims to support up to 100 young people, in the constitution of up to 50 tech startups, per year, through the provision of pre-incubation, training, mentoring and consulting to doing business plan and financing, as well as a monetary amount of 60.000 escudos, per project (30.000 escudos per team of two people).
In presenting the project, the Secretary of State for Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, said that this first technology-based entrepreneurship programme in Cabo Verde, which is already in its third edition, creates an opportunity for young people to develop their business ideas.
“The goal here is that, at an early stage, they can have the full Government’s support so that at the end they can then develop their business ideas. The goal here is to give young people a push… We know that the digital tool will be essential to do business around the world, so we want to support these young people who are surfing the new digital wave,” he said.
