
Africa-Press – Cape verde. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Olavo Correia reiterated on Thursday the maintenance of the Special Consumption Tax (ICE) for all vehicles imported in 2022 and spoke on the support to strengthen the treasury of importers.
Olavo Correia, who answered the Members questions to the Government in Parliament, explained that all vehicles up to four years old, who were in Cabo Verde or in transit until December 31, will be dispatched under the previous regime in which vehicles from zero to four years were exempt from paying the fee of 200.000 escudos.
“Therefore, the National Directorate of State Revenues (DNRE) has issued a Guidance Note to clarifie this so that all vehicles were already in Cabo Verde, which were already in the commercial warehouse until December 31 can leave with application of the ECI in force until 31 December 2021. In relation to the vehicles to be imported in 2022 will apply the legal framework is in force”, he said.
The Minister announced that the executive is in dialogue with the concessionaires, and announced that policy measures will be adopted under the financing lines for the economic recovery to support the concessionaires from the point of view of treasury and liquidity.
