Government wants Cabeólica to remain “important” partner in the energy transition process

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, said on Tuesday that the Government wants to continue to count on the Cabeólica contribution as an “important” partner in the energy transition process in which the country is “strongly engaged”.

The Minister made these statements today in his speech at the ending of the international conference promoted by Cabeólica, S.A. in Praia, entitled “Experience gained in 10 years of PPP and project finance models in the energy sector in Cabo Verde and the African continent”, in commemoration of its 10 years of operation in Cabo Verde.

“Cabo Verde has received great potential from renewable sources, sun, wind and sea and the partnership with Cabeólica has added to the country another relevant attribute, which is the experience in the operation of electrical systems with high level of penetration of intermittent renewable energies”, he stressed.

For Alexandre Monteiro, the presence of this company in the country has proved “an important contribution for Cabo Verde”, which is “strongly committed” to the global agenda on climate change.
