Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government announced, Wednesday, the 1st, in Porto Novo, an investment of 918 million escudos in the valuing of 18 rural villages on the islands of Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava.
The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who was beginning a three-day visit to Santo Antão, was in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, where he launched the project to value this tourist village, estimated at 66 million escudos.
The project focuses on the creation of a tourism post, the rehabilitation of housing, the construction of bathrooms, the creation of green spaces, the relocation of pigsties located at the entrance of the tourist area and business development.
In Santo Antão, in addition to the Tarrafal de Monte Trigo (Porto Novo) will also be valued the villages of Fontainhas (Ribeira Grande) and Figueiral (Paul), with a view to “creating an ecosystem” involving in “the entire tourism value chain”, the sanitation, the organization of paths, landscape valuation and agriculture, explained the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Santos.
