Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the PAIGC, in Guinea-Bissau, will be the candidate of the PAI Terra Ranka Coalition for the position of President of the Popular National Assembly.
As the candidate advanced, in a publication on his official Facebook page, the candidacy proposal was approved by a qualified majority of 396 votes in favor and 2 votes against, at the Third Extraordinary Session of the Central Committee, which took place this Sunday, in one of the hotels in the capital.
In his speech, reacting to the decision of the Central Committee, the President of the PAIGC stated that if he is elected President of the ANP, he will ensure a pacifying and unifying parliamentary exercise, and strive for a legislative production adequate to the current challenges of Guinea-Bissau.
In addition to Domingos Simões Pereira’s proposal for the position of President of the ANP, the PAI – Terra Ranka Coalition must propose the other candidates for the Board, namely 1st Vice-President and 1st Secretary, both under the responsibility of the PAIGC Permanent Commission, with the consent of the Conference of Leaders of the PAI – Terra Ranka Coalition.
The CC’s III Extraordinary Meeting also approved motions of congratulation to the PAICV, MLSTP and FRELIMO, for the commemoration of the Independence of the respective countries, that is, Cape Verde, S. Tomé and Príncipe and Mozambique.
