Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verde ‘s senior men’s handball team debuts today at 5 pm at the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2022), taking place in Cairo, Egypt. Cabo Verde faces Nigeria, in the game counting for the first round of group C.
In case of victory, Cape Verde will qualify for the next stage, since this Monday, 11th, Tunisia beat Nigeria by 30-18, in the opening game of Group C. Cape Verde enters the field again on Wednesday, the 13th, this time against Tunisia.
CAN’2022 will be played until the 18th in Egypt with the participation of 14 African teams.
The Cape Verde team has been in Egypt since Saturday, 9, after 36 hours of flight, with a stopover in Morocco, where it was held for 17 hours at Casablanca airport. Their debut on the field takes place today, 12, against Nigeria.
