Africa-Press – Cape verde. Today, the National Handball Team beat the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 29-22, in a game in the third and final round of group A of the African Cup of Nations (CAN’2024), taking place in Egypt. With their third victory in three games, the national team secured first place in the Group.

Both teams had already qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition, so today’s match served to define first place in the Group. Cape Verde leads Group A with six points, followed by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with four, Rwanda with two and Zambia who did not score after losing all three matches.

In previous matches, the National Handball Team defeated Zambia 45-13 on January 19, two days after beating Rwanda 52-27. The third victory in the competition was achieved today against DRC.
