Africa-Press – Cape verde. TACV flights to Lisbon may be changed or canceled due to the strike by the Handling service operator (Portway), at Lisbon airport, which starts at 00:00 on Friday, 26th, and runs until 28th of August. It is recalled that TACV flies with a TAAG aircraft which, despite already being registered in Cape Verde, has not yet received the painting with the company’s colors.
In a statement quoted by Inforpress, the Cape Verdean flag carrier also said that passengers should pay attention to the company’s communication.
The general stoppage of Portway workers is planned at the airports of Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Madeira.
The airports most affected will, however, be Porto, Faro and Funchal, where Portway has a stronger presence.
According to the same source, the strike is a reaction to the human resources policy adopted over the last few years by Portway, a company owned by the French Vinci Group.
A policy that the National Civil Aviation Workers Union (SINTAC) of Portugal calls “confrontation and devaluation of workers through consecutive breaches of the Company Agreement, disciplinary confrontation, lack of salary updates, misrepresentation of performance evaluations that avoid salary progressions and bad faith in negotiations”.
This Monday they said in a statement that the payment of 20 euros on a public holiday is unacceptable.
The handling company of the French group Vinci, concessionaire of ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, is the second largest land logistics services company in Portuguese airports, with around 20% of market share.
Vinci, remember, will manage Cape Verde’s airports.
