Africa-Press – Cape verde. Part of the stands at the Kizomba Municipal Stadium collapsed in the early hours of Monday morning, following heavy rains that have been falling since yesterday afternoon in São Miguel.

According to the São Miguel City Hall, the affected area is isolated and is under continuous monitoring by municipal teams.

The city hall assures that, as soon as weather conditions improve, work will begin on cleaning and rebuilding the damaged structure.

While these actions are underway, the public is urged to respect all signage placed at the site and avoid approaching the area for safety reasons.

Earlier, the city hall reported that, after the heavy rains on Saturday, the 22nd, and Sunday, the 23rd, teams from the São Miguel City Hall are working to restore normalcy to the access road to the city of Pilão Cão. Although the road has already been reopened, traffic remains restricted.
