Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Statistics on other forms of work released today by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) revealed that 55,271 individuals aged 15 or over carried out, in 2022, production work for their own consumption.

As explained by INE, other forms of work (non-remunerated work) are work activities carried out by individuals without receiving a salary or financial compensation in exchange, and this type of work encompasses various spheres of life, from the domestic to the volunteering.

These data are part of the Continuous Multi-Objective Survey (IMC) carried out in 2022, whose collection took place in the fourth quarter of 2022 (October-December) from a sample of 9,918 households, selected randomly and independently within each municipality.

The characteristics observed in the “other forms of work” module refer to the situation of individuals in the household in the week before the inquiring agent visits their homes, called the “reference period”.
