Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) will carry out the 4th Demographic and Reproductive Health Survey (IDSR IV) between July and September, to better understand the situation of Cape Verdeans at this level.
According to a press release, this process will make it possible to measure the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and anemia, study gender-based violence, assess the nutritional status of children and women, among other aspects.
Tests will be administered to eligible individuals, women aged 15 to 49, men aged 15 to 59, and children under 6 years old, in a subsample of 50 percent (%) of the selected households.
Conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Health, this survey will be submitted to 6,000 women between 15 and 49 years old, 3,000 men between 15 and 59 years old and 2,000 children under 6 years old, selected from households nationwide.
Meanwhile, according to the same source, in order to prepare this survey, field agents will be trained in all municipalities in the country, providing them with knowledge that guarantees the quality of the information collected. The training action will take place from this Monday, June 30th, until July 19th.
The opening session of the training for this purpose will begin at 9:00 am, at the University of Cape Verde, and will be chaired by the president of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Maria da Luz Lima, and will also feature interventions by the national director of Health, Ângela Gomes and the member of the board of directors of INE, Annie Sanches.
