Africa-Press – Cape verde. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) met today with businessmen in order to raise awareness of the importance of collaborating with the VI Business Census (VIRE) to produce statistical data on quality and quantity.
The appeal was launched by INE’s vice-president, Francisco Rocha, who was speaking to journalists this morning on the sidelines of the meeting, adding that it constitutes an opportunity to share the methodology to be used by this statistical operation and the strategy of communication.
He added that in recent years INE has had many difficulties in terms of collecting statistical data on the field, and in this sense they have asked the Câmara de Comércio de Sotavento to join this initiative to convince and show businessmen that it is very important to collaborate with the National Institute of Statistics in providing data.
“We produce robust and quality methodologies, but without the collaboration of our sources, in this case, companies, it will be difficult for us to produce statistics”, emphasised the vice-president of INE who wants a greater engagement of businessmen in providing data.
