Africa-Press – Cape verde. The executive director of INSP, Júlio Rodrigues, said today that Cabo Verde is in “perfect connection” with the health of the planet and the population, having developed and implemented various mechanisms for health promotion.
The head of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) made these considerations in statements to Inforpress, as part of World Health Day, which is marked today, this year under the theme “Our Planet, Our Health”.
“Cabo Verde has developed and implemented several mechanisms for the promotion of the health of the planet, always from a global health perspective. At the international and regional level we are signatories to several treaties and conventions, namely the adaptation of public health to climate change,” he said.
To comply with the “One Health” plan, he said, the country has developed and implemented joint action plans and initiatives under the national action plan for the environment, in the fight against desertification, in the plan for adapting public health to climate change, in the national strategic plan for water and sanitation, as well as in the plan for waste prevention and hospital waste management.
