ISCEE guarantees pedagogical and financial autonomy after association with UTA

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Higher Institute of Economic and Business Sciences (ISCEE) guaranteed, in a statement, that there is no decision by the Higher Education Cooperative, which owns the university, regarding its integration into the Universidade Técnica do Atlântico (UTA). What exists, he explained, is an association contract, which preserves the independence of the educational institution, academic, pedagogical and patrimonial autonomy.

In a statement sent to the press, ISCEE says that, in recent days, following the swearing-in of the new UTA rectory, the information was conveyed that it would be integrated into the UTA.

For this reason, it clarifies that “there is an association contract”, signed in October 2021, between UTA and Coopensino – Cooperativa de Ensino Superior, as founder and owner of ISCEE, and which aims to “discipline the association between the two institutions.

Autonomy This contract, as he said, preserves the existence, uniqueness and academic, scientific, pedagogical, cultural, disciplinary and patrimonial autonomy of ISCEE, as well as its symbols (logo, anthem and seal).

“ISCEE and UTA, as associates, will maintain their administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy”, he clarified.

The association contract, he concluded, was the legal form of institutional relationship found between the two parties, “among other possible ones that appear in the UTA statute”.
