Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, ended his State visit to Cabo Verde by bringing to his country the idea to took Electra’s experience in water desalination.
According to João Lourenço, of the companies he visited in Mindelo he was interested, especially in Electra, in the part of transforming seawater into drinking water which could be useful for the province of Namibe, province lying further to the south of Angola, and for the localities where this project can serve the populations.
“We will take the contacts of the company’s management and we will see if we take a few steps forward,” he said, also referring to it, noting that it will encourage entrepreneurs to set up a company similar to Frescomar, in Baía Farta, in Benguela, which was once a producer of fish preserves or in Namibe.
According to João Lourenço, there are also preliminary contacts between Technical University of the Atlantic (UTA) and an institute in Namibe, so he believes that “cooperation between the two institutions will be consolidated and both Cabo Verde and Angola will win.”
