Landim wants PR's influence to untie the knot in the appointment of CSMP bodies

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Attorney General of the Republic asked, this Monday, the 10th, the President of the Republic, to exercise his influence as a magistrate, with a view to resolving the political stalemate for the appointment of the bodies of the Superior Council of the Public Prosecution Service.

José Landim launched this appeal to the Head of State, during his visit to present New Year’s greetings.

More than consensus, he defended, the suitability and merit of the appointed people fit into the set of his concerns, as requirements for appointment.

Landim acknowledged that in justice “you can never satisfy everyone”, but guaranteed that, rather than depending on the Attorney General’s Office, efforts are being made so that justice reaches the goals set and at a faster pace.

More human resources

Considering that the results of the Public Prosecutor’s Office are already included in the public report, the PGR assured that some gains are being achieved, but was concerned about the Comarca da Praia, given the lack of employees and limited space.

“The most urgent thing is human resources. We have promises and we have already started the recruitment process, but it is a long process given the urgency we have. Just a complete training of a magistrate to start working, to work, takes two years, from recruitment to internship until starting to work, ”he explained.

Strengthening criminal investigation

He also pointed out the need for some means for mobility and reinforcement of the criminal police, as a right arm, arguing that if there is not a good criminal investigation, the Public Ministry does not produce.
