Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Collection of Conventions to Avoid Double Taxation and Prevent Tax Evasion” was launched on Wednesday afternoon, in the City of Praia, in order to help justice operators and especially the potential users of the standard.
The publication arose from a partnership between national and international operators, “D. Hopffer Almada & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados”, and the Cabo Verdean tax specialist with many years of experience Maria da Luz Brito.
During his speech at the presentation ceremony, David Hopffer Almada stated that the phenomenon of globalization and the consequent liberalisation of the movement of capital and labour, the removal of trade and customs barriers and market interaction, together with technological advances, characterize the modern digital economy.
In his view, international trade is and will increasingly be one of the priority areas in this increasingly globalized area. Being Cabo Verde a country of medium development, with ambition, but aware of its structural difficulties and consequent limitations, he argued that professionals from all areas, in this case legal specialists, lawyers and legal advisors should be able to follow in some cases until anticipating the evolution of the times to be able to face the difficulties and overcome the limitations.
