Africa-Press – Cape verde. Author and child entrepreneur Lauryn Rose Cabral Teixeira was recognized among the 100 child prodigies at the prestigious Global Child Prodigy Awards 2025. The ceremony took place on the 26th of this month, at the House of Commons, in the British Parliament, and celebrated young talents from around the world under the age of 15, in the areas of science, innovation, art, literature, entrepreneurship, sport and social impact. Lauryn was selected in the writing category.
According to a press release, Lauryn gained prominence as an advocate for diversity, inclusion and multicultural education with the publication of her children’s book “Lauryn, That’s Me,” translated into four languages.
“The book promotes a positive representation of black children and greater cultural awareness in the world of children’s literature. But her mission goes beyond writing: Lauryn is also an active promoter of community initiatives, donates books to underprivileged children and works as a speaker, encouraging multilingual education and the appreciation of African heritage through creativity,” she reveals.
During the event, Gareth Bacon, MP for Orpington and guest of honour for the evening, praised the young people being honoured. “It is a moment of immense pride to welcome these extraordinary children to the heart of British democracy. Their achievements are a powerful reflection of what is possible when young talent is recognised and nurtured,” he said.
Lauryn’s distinction at the “Global Child Prodigy Awards” reinforces the impact of her trajectory and the relevance of her cause. For the organizers, Lauryn represents the spirit of the award, dedicated to young changemakers who are already shaping a better world with their vision and creativity.
The event was hosted by the Charles Group and promoted by the Hindustan Group of Institutions. Both entities highlighted the importance of supporting and empowering children like Lauryn.
“It is incredible to witness the creativity, compassion and innovation of these young minds. When we invest in children, we invest in the brightest future of humanity,” said Jose Charles Martin, Chairman of Charles Group.
According to the same source, another of the highlights of the night was the official launch of the book “Global Prodigy Child 2025”, which brings together the inspiring stories of the 100 honorees, including Lauryn.
The publication will be distributed globally to schools, libraries and educational institutions, with the aim of inspiring and empowering young readers around the world.
