Africa-Press – Cape verde. Athlete Liliana Medina, from the municipality of Porto Novo and a member of the Jal Domus Nostra athletics school in Santo Antão, said this Friday that her dream is to represent Cape Verde “many more times on the big international stages.”
According to Inforpress, Liliana Medina, who received an athlete scholarship from the Institute of Sport and Youth, stated that she has won national and international titles and dreams of defending her titles and “growing much more” to represent the country in major international events.
“We have won national and international titles, broken records, and retained individual regional titles, but, like all athletes, we want to grow much more and represent my country many more times on the big international stages,” observed the 21-year-old athlete from Lajedos, in the interior of Porto Novo.
She expressed her happiness at being awarded the Athlete Scholarship by the Government, which will allow her “to have better working conditions, but above all, to open doors to participate in international competitions.”
“May this Athlete Grant be replicated by many more athletes from our island, because we have potential and we need the best conditions,” emphasized Liliana Medina.
