Africa-Press – Cape verde. Only 568 candidates for the teacher scholarship from the Ministry of Education of Timor-Leste passed the tests carried out to fill a total of 2,400 vacancies, according to official data to which Lusa had access today.
“In general, the pass rate was low, with no exam having a pass rate higher than 10%”, according to data from the Ministry of Education.
The data indicates that of the “11,273 exams carried out, 568 passes were recorded, which corresponds to a pass rate of 5%”.
Between March 15 and Tuesday, the Ministry of Education of Timor-Leste carried out 11,273 exams to fill a total of 2,400 vacancies in a pool of candidates, from which teachers will be hired.
In the exams, candidates for the teaching scholarship had to obtain a minimum score of 60 out of a total of 100 points, but only a “score of 44.4 points in all tests” was obtained.
“The level with the highest pass rate was in the Portuguese Language subject in the third cycle of Basic Education with a pass rate of 9.7%”, while the lowest pass rate was in the Natural Sciences subject in the third cycle Basic Education, recording a pass rate of 1.7%.
At the meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Wednesday, the Timorese Minister of Education, Dulce Soares, informed that a second phase of tests will be carried out to fill the remaining available vacancies.
