Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Portuguese-Cape Verdean Leonardo Lopes, 18 years old, will join the under-21 team of England’s Wolverhampton until 2026. Leonardo represented the Swiss at Zurich under-21, his training club. According to information from the English club, the striker has been under the “club’s radar” since he was 16 years old and the club now ensures his services, with a view to the new season that lies ahead.

“Leo is a striker who can play on either wing, he is very quick and skilful, strong one-on-one, and he is also a player who defends very well, with intensity” said Harry Hooman, Head of Recruitment at the academy of the English team.

Hooman anticipates a bright future for the young promise but warns “you have to work hard and know how to take advantage of opportunities”.
