Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Maracanã Cultural and Sports Association, from Ponta d’Água, in Praia highlighted gains such as community engagement after participation in the 14th edition of the Children’s Football Tournament of Clube União Micaelense, in the Azores.
Speaking to Inforpress, the Maracanã Cultural and Sports Association activities general coordinator, Carlos Tavares, stressed that “community engagement” was “one of the greatest results” obtained after participating in the International children’s Football Tournament of Clube União Micaelense in the Azores (Portugal).
“We are receiving very positive feedback. Wherever we go we have the recognition of our efforts, to change the concept of community with a high level of violence, to highlight as a sporting powerhouse”, he said.
According to the general coordinator, the Association has received, in addition to recognition, donations, a high number of registrations by children and young people who want to change their lives through sport.
