Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will give a Master Class on Thursday, 2nd, at the Convention Center of the Palmarejo Grande Campus of the Cabo Verde University (Uni-CV), on the theme “Democracy in Times of Crises”.
In a statement published on its Facebook page, the University of Cape Verde emphasizes that it is with great honor to invite the academic community and the general public to the Aula Magna “Democracy in Time of Crises”, an opportunity to deepen understanding of the foundations of democracy in challenging times.
“In an era in which the stability of democratic structures is put to the test, it is imperative to reflect on their resilience and ability to adapt”, reads the note released by Uni-CV.
The Aula Magna to be given by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will take place on May 2nd, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, at the Palmarejo Grande Campus Convention Center.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is in Cape Verde to mark the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Prisoners from the Tarrafal Concentration Camp, on the island of Santiago.
The Tarrafal Concentration Camp, in Chão Bom, is the central stage of the celebrations marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Liberation of Prisoners from the Tarrafal Concentration Camp, which include the special session, in which the heads of State of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, participate , from Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, from Guinea-Bissau, Umáro Embalé Sissocko, as well as a representation of the President of Angola.
