Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho, revealed to the press that he received a letter today from the Minister of Infrastructure, Land Planning and Housing, saying that there will be no PRRA money for the municipality.
The information was given following a press conference, to react to the decision not to admit, by the Constitutional Court, the appeal on the appointment of the municipal secretary and to the statements of the Movement for Democracy (MpD – power), in this context, which blamed the management of the city council, led by Francisco Carvalho, for having been practicing illegal acts.
“I think it’s time to ask for your votes,” Francisco Carvalho appealed, saying that the MpD government has cut all funding for the City council of Praia.
The mayor explained, for example, that he has just received a letter from the Minister of Infrastructure saying that in regard to the money from the Requalification, Rehabilitation and Accessibility Programme (PRRA) that it is better to “forget” because there will be no money to finance works in Praia.
