Africa-Press – Cape verde. The mayor of São Miguel recognized this Saturday the work and dedication of sanitation professionals and stated that it is thanks to their efforts that this municipality is increasingly cleaner.
Herménio Fernandes made these statements at the opening ceremony of the Municipal Environment and Sanitation Day, which brought together professionals in the area of sanitation from Ribeira de Principal to Ribeira de Flamengos today in the Noble Hall of the Paços do Concelho de São Miguel.
The event, celebrated for the third time, according to the head of the municipal executive, was a way found by the city council to praise the contribution of sanitation professionals through their work, dedication, dedication and love for their work.
“We are celebrating Municipal Environment and Sanitation Day with great pride, because our municipality today is a reference in terms of urban cleaning and hygiene, green areas, organization, public health and all of this thanks to a lot of work and you are an important part for this result”, congratulated the mayor.
As he recalled, the mission of any municipal council is to take care of the territory, which involves keeping it organized, clean, green, healthy, safe and with quality of life for those who live, work, visit and, also, for those who intend or ambition to invest in this territory.
In front of a room full of these employees, Herménio Fernandes said he had no doubt that the profession performed by these people “is as important as any other”, he insisted that the municipality he has led since 2016 is today a reference in terms of urban cleaning and hygiene thanks to to the efforts of these sanitation professionals and the collaboration of citizens who have complied with the Municipal Code of Posture.
In his speech, the mayor, who announced the salary increase and reinforcement of sanitation staff for next year, expressed respect and friendship towards these sanitation professionals who start working from 3:00 in the morning to keep the municipality clean from Ribeira de Principal to Ribeira de Flamengos.
