MFIDS Strengthens Ties with Cape Verdean Community

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government of Cape Verde, represented by the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, is in Guinea-Bissau from today, where it will remain until July 12, on a mission that aims to strengthen ties with the Cape Verdean community residing in that country, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national Independence.

According to a government statement, “the participation of Minister Fernando Elísio Freire underscores the firm commitment of the Government of Cape Verde to its diaspora, recognizing the essential role that emigrant communities play in preserving, valuing and promoting Cape Verdean culture beyond borders.”

During the visit, the president will participate in several activities organized in conjunction with the Cape Verdean community in Guinea-Bissau, local authorities, diplomatic representatives and international organizations.

The agenda includes meetings with representatives from the Ministries of Labor, Social Security and Social Affairs of Guinea-Bissau, as well as moments of direct dialogue with Cape Verdean emigrants, in an approach that aims to strengthen cooperation and promote the social inclusion of the diaspora.
