Minister of Communities and Minister of Justice visit Cape Verdean communities in Côte d'Ivoire and São Tomé and Príncipe

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Communities, Jorge Santos, and the Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, carried out a joint mission between the 7th and 14th of this month of August to Ivory Coast and São Tomé and Príncipe to verify, in loco, the progress the process of Attributing Free Nationality to Cape Verdean Descendants in African countries, within the scope of the decree-law for the acquisition of free Nationality of Origin to Cape Verdean descendants in Africa and promotion of the New Nationality Law.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the Cape Verdean government delegation holds working meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d’Ivoire, the Minister of Justice, the Governor and the Mayor of Abidjan.

Ivory Coast was the first country to host the interministerial team working on the process, which is ongoing until December 31 of this year.

On the visit to Sao Tome and Principe, the delegation will hold meetings with the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice and other local authorities.

In a statement, the Government of Cape Verde stresses that the Minister of Communities and the Minister of Justice are participating in this mission, “given the complementarity of the two Ministries in this process of Nationality”.
