Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, announced this Wednesday, in Parliament, at this time are already circulating in the country “more than 100 electric vehicles.
The Minister, who made this revelation when being approached by MPs in Question Time to the Government, said that today Cabo Verde has much more lighting points with Led lamps and with less consumption.
He cited examples of the City of Praia and Sal Island, where energy consumption for street lighting has reduced “almost by half” compared to the period before the introduction of Led lamps.
Asked if the conditions for the introduction of electric vehicles in Cabo Verde are created, Alexandre Monteiro replied yes, adding, however, that the “process is progressive”.
“The process is progressive and is aligned with the Energy Transition Plan,” the Minister recalled, adding that the plan in 2050 is to reach 100 percent of the vehicle moving clean energy.
