Minister of Justice defends revision of the Public Procurement Code

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Justice today defended the revision of the Public Procurement Code with the aim of being at the service of citizens, companies and being able to carry out inspection activities, but also to persuade non-compliant entities.

Joana Rosa was speaking to the press, in the city of Praia, after presiding over the opening act of the conference “The sanctioning power of regulatory entities”, promoted by the Public Acquisitions Regulatory Authority (ARAP), which marks its 16 years of existence.

At the time, the government official praised the work done by the institution so far, remembering that ARAP was created with the main task of ensuring transparency in public procurement, equality between competitors and also combating corruption, defending changes to the Contracting Code Public.

According to the minister, there is also a need to have more agile judicial process procedures that can respond to demands more quickly.

Regarding the Administrative Procedure Code, Joana Rosa assured that the Government is working to respond to urgent processes, setting deadlines for judicial secretariats, as well as working on the law on judicial organization, adapting it to the new requirements.
