
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister for Youth and Sport, Carlos Monteiro, defended this Wednesday, in Praia, the “Mexi Mexe” programme, launched in 2017, needs to be “reinforced” to gain a new dynamic in the post pandemic.
The Deputy Minister made this statement in remarks to journalists, on the sidelines of the first edition of the “Open Day National Stadium”, to mark the World Day of Physical Activity and Sport at the Service of Development and Peace.
“In 2022 we will continue with the training of trainers and active street initiatives throughout the country (…) to be able to instill the necessary changes in the mentality and way of living of Cabo Verdeans, so that there is more and more physical activity”, pointed out Carlos Monteiro.
However, the Minister for Youth and Sport stressed that the programme has been “impactful” to the massification of physical activity in the country since its implementation and stressed its pioneering.
