Minister praises the robustness of the financial system, after suspension of the INPS auction

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of State, Family, Inclusion and Social Development assured that despite the suspension of the INPS auction proposed by the Bank of Cape Verde, the system is operating normally, demonstrating the robustness of the financial system and its regulation.

“In this specific case, the system is functioning normally. The INPS suspended the auctions. Banco Cabo Verde thought it should be suspended. The INPS took the stance of the auctions. INPS suspends. This demonstrates that we have a robust financial system with robust regulation, everyone is protected and that everyone is complying with their payments”, he told the press.

It should be noted that the INPS auctions, carried out with the aim of making resources profitable, were suspended by the Bank of Cape Verde (BCV) in January, after a first communication given by the secretary general of the UNTC-CS, according to which “the BCN 150,000 belonging to the INPS are being kidnapped.”

Subsequently, the president of the Executive Committee (PCE) of Banco Cabo-verdiano de Negócios (BCN), Luís Vasconcelos, denied the secretary general of UNTC-CS and asked the Central Bank to initiate an investigation process.
