The minister, who was speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the opening of the meeting with the Group of Local Education Partners (GPLE), which takes place today in the city of Praia, stressed that unions must take into account the conditions that the country has at the moment.
“We have always had the flag of peace raised high and we always seek to dialogue with the unions, respecting their positions, and the Government’s program had already defined as one of its objectives the review of the Teaching Career Statute and the updating of the remuneration table ”, he pointed out.
He added that in dialogue with the unions it was agreed that all salaries would be updated, with the index 100 of the teaching remuneration table, for the careers of teachers with a degree at 91 thousand escudos and for teachers without a degree at 55 thousand escudos as salary. base.
According to Amadeu Cruz, at this moment this is the country’s possibility and is in line with expectations and its possibilities.
“This is the Government’s decision and it is a decision that benefits teachers, which benefits the stability of the Cape Verdean educational system”, he stated.
At the time he said that Sindprof, unions and other educational subjects and agents have full legitimacy to have their positions, but the country gives what it can and what taxpayers can pay for.
On Wednesday, 14th, through a statement published on its page on the social network Facebook, the Ministry of Education announced that the index 100 of the teaching remuneration table for the careers of teachers with a degree will be fixed, from the entry into force of the new Positions, Functions and Remuneration Plan (PCFR), at 91 thousand escudos.
The document also states that this measure will also benefit teachers without a degree who received 24,021 escudos with a monthly salary of 55 thousand escudos.
