Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, through the General Directorate of Arts and Creative Industries, will promote an open conversation on Tuesday, 2nd, about the formalization of the artistic class.
Promoted in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and Business Development, the meeting is part of the schedule of the Xth edition of the Atlantic Music Expo (AME), which takes place from today to Thursday, 4th, in the city of Praia, under the motto ” Artistic sustainability”.
According to a press release, the open conversation, which will be based on the Statute of Art and Culture Professionals (Artist Statute), will also feature the participation of the National Directorate of State Revenue (DNRE), the National Institute of Social Security (INPS), Pró Empresa and Casa do Cidadão to talk about the formalization process,
“This is an important discussion meeting on the formalization of the culture sector, with particular focus on the artistic class, as the covid-19 pandemic has shown the great fragility of the culture sector and its workers”, it reads in the document.
The same source clarified that the formalization of this class constitutes an important step so that cultural professionals are not vulnerable in phases of crisis, as happened during the covid-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, the meeting intends to take advantage of the great movement of national artists participating in the event and to have the greatest possible scope and reach artists in residence and in the diaspora.
The open conversation takes place in a hybrid format via the Google Meet platform and will also be broadcast on social media.
The conversation will take place in the auditorium of the Palácio da Cultura Ildo Lobo, in Platô, and will be attended by the deputy prime minister and minister of Finance and Business Development, Olavo Correia, and the minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente .
