Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Ministry of Education will hire about 300 teachers for the academic year 2024-2025, announced on Thursday, in Praia, the Minister of tutelage, Amadeu Cruz.
“We hire teachers for current management. We have to replace retirees, those who are in medical and maternity leave or those who are on unpaid leave,” he clarified.
The governor made this announcement in statements to journalists, after signing a protocol with Broa Foundation, consisting of Cape Verdeans living in the United States of America (USA), for the construction of classrooms and remodeling of the Basic School of White Corn, in the municipality of São Domingos.
On the other hand, it advanced that the Government, from the State Budget, has funds for the modernization and rehabilitation of school infrastructures, being a major symbol, as attested, the construction of the Varzea High School.
Amadeu Cruz assured that this educational establishment, located next to the National Library, in Praia, will start operating in the next academic year.
“There are several schools, throughout the country, that are being subject of interventions at this time,” said the Minister of Education.
