Morabeza conquers the Super Cup with his eyes on the revalidation of the previous season's titles

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Sport Clube Morabeza, Regional Football Champion of Brava, won, last weekend, the island’s Super Cup by defeating Benfica by 2-0, in a game played at the “Achilles de Oliveira” Stadium, in Cidade de Nova Sintra, Brava. This season, this Brave champion wants to revalidate all the titles achieved in the 2021/2022 sports season.

Speaking to Rádio de Cabo Verde (RCV), Nelson Delgado, Morabeza’s assistant coach, considered that the Super Cup game was very balanced and difficult with the two goals being scored all in the second half, one of them through the mark of a big penalty.

Nelson Delgado also considered that winning the Brava Super Cup is an important milestone for Sport Clube Morabeza, and that it means that the team “started on the right foot” in the new sporting season, and intends to revalidate the titles won in the season previous.

It should be remembered that, in addition to the title of Regional Football Champion of Brava, season 2021/2022, the Morabeza team also holds the Taça da Brava from the same season which, curiously, had also been won against Benfica in a game that, at the time, it was only decided on penalties after extra time.

Revalidate titles won in the previous season

In the current football season (2022/23), which started on Sunday the 4th, and in which the teams from Benfica, Corôa, and Nô Pintcha also participate, Sport Clube Morabeza, according to its coach, is “focused and determined” on revalidating the titles won in the previous season (2021/2022), namely the Opening Tournament, the Regional Championship and the Taça Brava, which were all won by the Morabeza team.

“This year, the team is no exception to the rule, it will try to win the titles, because Morabeza is always a candidate for the title”, promised Emanuel de Pina “Nêy Lokô” in statements to the Cape Verdean News Agency, adding that the team practically kept their players from last season.
