Africa-Press – Cape verde. The 9th edition of the Fogo Coffee Festival, promoted by the City Hall of Mosteiros, is scheduled for April 14, 15 and 16 in the city of Igreja, according to a source from the local authority.
Setting the date for the festival, which is now in its ninth edition, was approved in the first session of 2023 by the City Hall of Mosteiros, which determined its cultural agenda for the current year.
In addition to the Coffee Festival, whose beginnings this year will coincide with the International Coffee Day, the Talaia Baxu gala (third gala) will also be held on June 22, with a view to promoting and valuing this musical genre, which, at the initiative of the autarchy, is intangible cultural heritage of municipal interest since December 14, 2022.
The Literary Alley – Mosteiros Book Festival, the municipal children’s theater show (Monti), Mosteiros St. Art – Festival of Urban Art, the Municipal Festivities, the second canizade competition and the municipal cultural gala, are other cultural activities that are on the agenda. It begins on January 31 with the opening of the poetry competition about coffee in Fogo, continuing on February 1 with the celebration of the National Day of Talaia Baxu.
