“We are here at the Attorney General’s Office following the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice regarding two cases that we filed with the Supreme Court, cases that, from the Supreme Court’s perspective, were defective. The councillors, our councilors did not have the legitimacy to initiate the process, but the Court of Justice itself told us which way to go, where the illegitimacy was”, the secretary general of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) told the press. ), Luis Carlos Silva.
According to the secretary general, the Supreme Court of Justice indicated that the illegitimacy was in the Attorney General’s Office, which led the MpD to present the two complaints.
The complaints are centered on two main issues: alleged irregularities in the Praia City Council budget for the year 2023 and the execution of a budget considered illegal for the year 2022, in addition, the appointment of the municipal secretary is also under question.
