The information was provided during the opening of the international conference on nature tourism, which took place in the town of Planalto Leste, an event promoted by the Government as part of the celebrations of International Tourism Day.

The mapping, signaling and recovery of tourist trails constitutes, according to the minister, cited by Inforpress, one of the initiatives that the Government intends to implement to “restructure and qualify” tourism in rural areas on islands with “greater potential” in terms of tourism in the region. nature.

This conference, which discussed nature tourism in Cape Verde and the diversification of the offer, aims to “give visibility” to Cape Verde as a destination for nature, ecotourism and trekking (hiking on trails), as explained by Carlos Santos.

Regarding the statistics that mark tourist activity in Cape Verde, the minister said that the country should “close the year 2023 with a satisfactory record approaching one million tourists”.
