Ocean Race/São Vicente: Passage of the regatta served as an experience to bring other international races – Prime Minister

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, considered this Wednesday, in Mindelo, that the passage of the Ocean Race regatta through São Vicente served to absorb experience to bring other editions of the race and other international competitions to the island.

Ulisses Correia e Silva was speaking to the press after the start of the Ocean Race regatta, precisely the IMOCA category boats, which started at 15:25 minutes, for the new stage of the competition to Cape Town (South Africa), after the departure of category VO65 boats.

According to the Prime Minister, “they will eventually be able to bring other editions of the Ocean Race, but also several other races that do not have the dimension” of this regatta, “but that need places like Mindelo”.

According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, it was “fantastic”, but it was also a “great challenge” to bring the regatta to the city of Mindelo, because it is a race that requires a high level of organization.
