PAICV accuses the Government of not transferring resources from the Tourism Fund to Boa Vista

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) accused the Government this Wednesday of not transferring resources from the Tourism Fund to the island of Boa Vista.

The accusation was made by deputy Walter Évora, at a press conference, in Cidade para Praia, following a statement about the Tourism Fund.

“There is no other term to use than that of an attempt to deceive, deceive and blatantly lie to the population of the island of Boa Vista by this MPD Government”, reiterated the deputy elected by the Boa Vista constituency.

“The MPD Government does not transfer the resources that the Boavista Chamber needs to carry out very important works for the island”, he explained.

The PAICV deputy also pointed out that MPD leaders on the island of Boa Vista are trying, “at all costs”, to strangle the City Council elected in 2020.

“They try to stall the carrying out of works as a strategy to try to win the next local elections”, he added.

In its statement, the Government announced the approval of financing worth 682 thousand contos to finance the sewage network and water supply projects in Estância de Baixo, Bofareira and Povoação Velha.

In the document sent to Inforpress, to comment on the statements made by the mayor of Boa Vista, regarding the 100 thousand contos transferred to the municipality within the scope of the Tourism Fund, the Government stated that despite not receiving any justification regarding this amount, it decided approve financing to begin work on the sewage network on the island of Boa Vista.
