PAICV, in line with the PR message, calls for in-depth dialogue with professionals

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of PAICV appealed to the Government, in line with the message from the President of the Republic, for an in-depth dialogue with all professionals, to respond to the challenges that the Country faces in various areas. This challenge was launched by Rui Semedo today, at a press conference, to react to the new year message addressed to the country by the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, which he assessed as comprehensive, which addresses the most important issues in the country’s internal life, but also a message of hope.

“The President calls for us to have a year of less poverty, less unemployment, less inequality, eventually summing up the country’s situation, which is indeed a serious situation. I could summarize this as a more developed, more prosperous country, a fairer, more supportive country and a country that guarantees opportunities for everyone,” he said.

This, taking into account that, according to the president of the African Independence Party of Cape Verde (PAICV-opposition), the Cape Verdean population is experiencing various hardships, such as poverty that has plagued families, people directly and the entire community.

As he highlighted, unemployment is a reality, particularly youth unemployment, so the country cannot lose sight of the fact that they are somewhat desperate, because they invest in their qualifications and have no opportunity to access employment.

“The President of the Republic clearly speaks of the need for dialogue to reduce the level of tension, to meet fair demands and create conditions of stability for work, both in the health and education sectors”, recalled the president of PAICV.

“We also, in line with the President’s message to the Government, call for an in-depth dialogue with all professionals to see their demands and the responses that can be given in this context that the country is experiencing”, he defended.

The president of PAICV criticized the fact that the country is “accommodated” with the situation of crime and insecurity, stating that security is an essential and fundamental good that must be guaranteed to all Cape Verdeans and those who chose the country for to live.

“He ends his message with a positive perspective of wishing for more confidence and enough encouragement to face the year 2024, peace, the cessation of conflicts, but also that we have a year in which we improve the conditions of poverty, inequality and unemployment”, he highlighted.

PAICV, he assured, wants 2024 to be a year in which there are new responses, in which there is greater “humility” on the part of the Government to dialogue with all Cape Verdeans, so that there is an understanding of the country’s essential problems, and measures to policies that contribute to boosting the economy.

“Of course, we would like to have a safer country, with less crime, more answers and better answers for health, education and a country in which social dialogue is more fluid and where answers can be found for stability”, he predicted, highlighting that this is the Government’s responsibility so that Cape Verde continues to grow and find answers to the challenges.
