Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the National Assembly defended the need to cultivate attitudes and behaviors to ensure the promotion of women’s empowerment and to focus on long-acting to fight against GBV in Cabo Verde.

Austelino Correia defended this position when delivered the opening speech at the conference under the theme Gender-Based Violence in Cabo Verde, promoted on Monday by the Lusófona University in the City of Praia.

The leader of the parliamentary house highlighted the initiative of the Lusófona University to promote this conference, stressing that the intervention of the academy is fundamental mainly because the global and effective solution requires in-depth studies and thorough research developed by universities.

“I am looking forward to this conference will come out lights capable of positively touch and motivating all those who do not give due importance to the problem under discussion or who think they have nothing to do with the subject or still consider it to be a matter of fashion and cosmetic exercise,” he said.
