
Africa-Press – Cape verde. PAICV considered this Wednesday, that in culture the Government has a “handful of nothing” and less than 30% of the previous legislature programe was fulfilled, the MPD refutes and the UCID asked for more investments for the sector.
These were the positions defended by the three parties with parliamentary seats during the first plenary session of April, after the speech of the Minister of Culture, Abraão Vicente.
The African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV-opposition party) MP João do Carmo, who adjected the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries and Minister of the Sea, Abraão Vicente, “super minister”, referring to culture, which in the programme for the X legislature the Government “has a handful of nothing” and less than 30% of what was predicted in the previous legislature was fulfilled.
In the words of the PAICV MP, “the 10th legislature begins with a more restrained program, with less wording and less forceful in the proposals for actions to be carried out, without concrete proposals for the construction of cultural infrastructure, and without announcements of cultural policies to be undertaken”.
