According to a note sent to Inforpress by CV Interilhas, the “Dona Tututa” had a “serious malfunction” in the steering and maneuvering system, compromising its safe navigation capacity.
“Given the urgency to resolve this situation, CV Interilhas is taking all necessary measures to minimize the inconvenience caused to our customers and guarantee the continuity of services”, reads the statement.
Among the measures taken, the company relocated the Kriola ship to carry out the São Nicolau/São Vicente and São Vicente/São Nicolau trips, scheduled for January 24th and 26th.
The same source also admitted that these changes will have repercussions on the schedule of the Santiago/Fogo/Brava and Brava/Fogo/Santiago trips on January 25th, hence, he added, the affected passengers will be reallocated to the Santiago/Fogo trip on the 25th. de Janeiro at 2:00, on the Interilhas ship.
Meanwhile, the holding company hopes to restore normality within 48 hours with the ship Tututa, which at this time should be towed to the island of São Vicente, where it will undergo repairs, aiming for “quick recovery and full operational availability” .
“The CV Interilhas team is fully committed to resolving the damage on the Dona Tututa ship within a maximum period of 48 hours, with the expectation of resuming normal operations on Sunday”, assured the concessionaire, who thanked customers for their understanding.
On the other hand, he confirmed his commitment to providing updates on the progress of the repair and the respective resumption of travel.
