Africa-Press – Cape verde. The poem “Bem baixinho” from the work “Versos ao vento”, by Cape Verdean writer José Rodrigues, has been chosen to be part of the 15th edition of the Poetic Anthology “Entre o sono e os sonhos”, by Chiado Books, in Portugal.
Speaking to Inforpress, the computer engineer said that he was “surprised” when he received the news, because as well as the poem being part of his first poetic work, it was only a few weeks after its presentation in Lisbon, which makes him “proud and motivated to keep doing better and better”.
“My pride is that ‘Versos ao vento’ was created, edited and published entirely by me, without any publisher behind it. And to have a poem chosen for an anthology right away means that I’ve done a good job,” said José Rodrigues, who indicated that he has “always passion for writing”.
The author urges people to introspect, in a dialogue with themselves, reflecting on society, their behavior and attitudes towards the facts and how to change the situation, bringing up themes such as love, human awareness, emigration and society as a whole.
